You're my piller of strength, my voice of comfort, my emotional support, my ice kachang in the tropical heat, my cotton candy with extra fluff, my campfire warmth and so much more. :)

Maybe I wont remember the words I have not heard.

When I'm confused, I like to act like I'm not. Sometimes I do think a little, but I stop myself before it gets further. Sometimes, I ignore the feeling wholesale.

Because I dont like the feeling of not having self-control, the possibility of losing all that I love so dear.

Maybe someday we will know why the sky is blue.

And now desert me

I got my first silver in my entire life. I was 2cm away from a bronze so I suppose it could be much worse. We shall wait and see. ((:

Welcome-back-Cherie! squad outing today was real successful! ( Though like less then half didnt turn up with random reasons such as couldnt fit us into schedule and some without reasons at all.) Firstly, Cherie turned up (unlike the last one) and secondly, it was great balls of great fun! ((:

Nevertheless, we had great job recalling the past of MVP qing ren (the present in Feng's case), liu xing hua yuan, Christopher Lee, TCS girls and girls - whos hot and whos not, etc etc. For the record, Yins votes Qi Yuwu, Feng votes Elvin Ng, and Rina I think goes for Pierre Png. What closet aunities we really are! :D

Love those darlings, it was awesome it was. (:

But I cant help but think of the little time I get to watch TV now. I hardly have since JC. Even now though I'm kindda bumming around half the mth. Camp and many many friends makes it impossible to stay glued to the latest drama serial, or to take care of my tamagotchi for that matter. :(

Speaking of which, I'l trying as hard as possible to wave the bad feelings I've got about tomorrow far far away.

We lost to forever.

Oh dear, to even qualify for the Local Study Award I'm applying for the army, I need a silver for my NAPFA tomorrow.

I'm not whinning for the attention or to make a big hooha for kicks. (Think : all those Oh-my-god-i'll-surely-fail-my-test-but-I-secretly-studied-for-about-67-months classmates you had.)

I havent jumped, sprinted, did inclined or anything at all. In short, training has been a big flop and I haven no idea where my standards lie. Not like I've got anything to lose (but face) anyway.

And, confidence is key. That and alot of good luck. :)

P/S. Please dont go OMG VAN IS APPLYING FOR THE ARMY? and then call and tell me how stinky the helmet is, how gross the toilets are, etc etc. I'm FAR FAR away from getting anything. I'll think about it really seriously when I get nearer. Thats when you can call. (:

I wish time would halt at yesterday night.

I dont laugh so much so loud with them as with HA, dont dance as crazily or behave as close., but its always super comfortable with them about. Sometimes, they have no idea what goes on in my life, we might not take about private matters in the open like I do with some of my girls. But with them, it always feels like my comfort zone. With them by my side, I'm strong and come what may, I can face the world! (:

These are the guys who'll walk me to the ends of earth, who'll pack my house for me, who'll ask me if I'm okay if I sneeze a little, who'll be there for me just because.

I LOVE YOU GUYS BUCKETLOADS.

Oh how lovely is our country

(Backdated 16-18 April 07)

I was looking forward to this camp since March. Its my mother school, my group was enthused and the instructors were awesome!

But somehow, it wasnt super impactful. Now I really get what Mojo means.

Except for the fact that I used up 8 firestarters instead of the 2 we were allocated. Thereby sabo-ing all those doing outdoor cooking after me. It was funny looking back. Everytime I saw jeremy's face, all I think of is the firestarters. Haha, at least he seemed pretty pleased with me at the end.

And the never ceasing calls for Vaneh (courtesy of mirror mojo) still rings in my ear. haha

Spartans, Prepare for Glory!
AH HOO!!

(Backdated 11-13 April)

This camp was my first in many ways.

The first camp it wasnt easy working with the instuctors.
The first camp I cried completely because of the students.
The first camp my group, though not a rahrah group, showed me strength in other ways.
The first camp I'm bursting with pride at their growth
The first camp I took a picture of a msg a student left me on the ev form
The first camp the students made me feel my debrief was really really super useful.
The first camp that looking at their t-shirt means so much to me.

Yup, this camp was a delightful breath of fresh air I must say. ((:

When the cold wind blows

(Backdated 3-5 April 07)

I know I know,
You have to go.
But hurry back home;
Cause I miss you so!

Genting trip, much reported admist much hype. Mine is wayyy overdue. By like 1 mth. :/ But it feels like so much longer than that.

We had Dim Sum buffet the day before the trip! Ice skating after was truely much fun!

WIth Amanda! Really glad we didnt stick around like first camp! haha, I was damn scared of her la!

Missing only Yaoxing.

I wonder why it always seems that phototakings half the fun! And I swear Fauzis damn super funny la! I took so long to update I think hes back frm Turkey alr!

Smiles all round! :))

If you try this, be warned that you will surely be scolded by the fierce fierce people at Fuji ice-palace. If you're willing to risk that, its a whole line of fun!

(More photos at http://vanlovesmilktea.multiply.com/photos/album/28! )

Melvin Cheongs chalet was after cant remember much about though. Just more fun and more laughter. (Sorry la, Genting too exciting so lets move on to the main point! hahah)

All 18 of us who went up and down Genting Highlands together! (19 with Steven who met us there) An awesome medley of people!! ((:

On the bus there:

The bus was completely ours for the taking. And took it we did! We rocked the bus with our noise and song sessions and cheers! We passed the preserved papayas and the Ramly Burgers and our passports for each other to laugh at. (: The award for the funniest passport photo has to be split between Jeremy Lee and Melvin Loy. (No picture attached for Melvin): )

Check in and safety briefing:

The first world hotel really needs to improve on their facilities! I mean hotel without aircon is already jaw dropping! (OKAY I KNOW GENTING IS COLD ANYWAY) But the lack of a safe was damn inconvenient la, we had to lug our passports and everything around (OKAY I KNOW YANA DID MOST OF THE WORK) haha, but yes, and SEVEN girls in one room is crazy la! haha, but it was damn funny also! With Zhao Xiu being damn strict about the neatness and bed space and everything (:

Geeks are in!

The guys and the girlies!

Play:

The best self-shot with 12 people. Honestly, my Powershot 630, is big and POWERFUL!

The rides werent SUPER awesome. (Esp the 4D rides where we get to wear those blackies. Damn puke-ish!) But the company definately was! We rode the rollarcoster at least 10 times and bumped around on the bumper cars with such gusto!

I'm damn proud of this picture I took! ((: Outside the Spiderman (I told Zhao Xiu and she say it was Superman. Then we spent the entire ride arguing. :))

Oh yes, and we got stuck in a lift :/ They blame it on my bad luck. ):

I dont think any of us had visited a theme park the HA way. And it was like nothing else in the whole wide world! Underwear song on the pirate ship, Pui Ser's dance on the umbrella, Space shot non stop senseless screaming, holding an uncaped waterbottle on the cockscrew, not forgetting the trademark Para Para on the stage! Hahha, I suddenly remember ji ren ji ren zhan qi lai, when Melvin C had to take off everything lah. Haha, honestly! Theres nothing like the HA way. ((: We're truely self-entertainers and brilliantly good at that! :D

Meal times :

Night Programme:

Night programme was a misture of arcade (in which Sam and I spent the entire time trying to hype each other up - the solution, forehead slapping game) and AH HOCK CHEE CHEONG FAN! Twice, we braced the super cold wind and waddled determinatedly towards this chee cheong fan store that Melvin Cheong insists is the place to go.

Guys trying to show their strength defies the elements. (Aside note : Melvin is damn white la!)

Campfire Night:

Really, we must be the first bunch of people to have had a campfire beside the chee cheong fan store. Ah hock was the guess, and Jeremy the MC. We were good campers, we put up good performace and nothing could have doused the fire that night ((:

And it so happens, that at this most memorable moment, not one of the many cameras were there. ahha, so all we depended on was Yana's phone.

Yet, with or without pictures, that was one event the 18 of us wouldnt forget. (Poor Steven fell asleep in his hotel room)

The freezing walk back to the hotel was another highlight. The care and concern, the low voices and true hearts. Fulzzy really touched me with what he said; the guys and girls were all helping each other out (Jacket shortage you see). A super special moment that was, with the warmth generating from the hearts. (But Fulzzy also said its because we were blown numb by the wind and thats why we didnt feel cold anymore. :/ My theory sounds more romatic)

Last day:

The usual phototaking frenzy and signing of autographs. Okay, no autographs this time. Hahah, but a mad rush to buy everything we wanted to buy because we (very natuarally) woke up late. Thank goodness for responsible Neng and Yana!!! The trip would have been super chui without them! ((:

Home Sweet Home :

This time I cant remember what we really did in the bus. haha, Bluff I think. And UNO. And watching Arvin perform his magic tricks.

Our final picture, to mark a closure for this awesome trip!

Reflections :

More than anything, I'm glad for the friends I found and picked up.

And the hella crazy time that I may never find myself stuck in the middle of again. :D

FAUZZY! A new found friend I super like! :D

Jeremy buying cotton candy (Jas and my absolute favourite) for us! ((:

A new found good friend in Cyerna! A pizza dinner in the hotel room really worked wonders!

So say goodbye, but dont you cry,
Cause a true love never dies

(Alot alot ALOT more pictures here : http://vanlovesmilktea.multiply.com/photos/album/29)

AND! GUEST STARING CHEEYONG! (: Fate let us meet even in Genting for the second time! ((:

Run like the wind

(Backdated : 28-30 Mar 07)

New Town was vastly.. different from all the camps I've been to. (And not because of the Healthy Living and NE value focus.)

The group was one of the most challenging yet and although I did put in as much effort as I could master, it was damn disheartening to conclude that it wasnt enough.

I was second time lucky enough to mirror Jeremy Lee again! This time wasnt as happy an experience as the first (Radin Mas Pri 6), mainly cause of the disappointment I felt from myself and him. Long story, and hopefully, it stays in the past. I'm glad though. Jeremy has thought me the most since I came to Camp HA i think, so 3 cheers for him! (:

Yet, its always a learning experience. More than anything though, what I remember most about it is that it was the farewell camp for the boys who were about to be shipped into Tekong. Alvin, Weijin and Arvin. (Not forgetting Keynes and Kaixiang who didnt do the camp) It may be an uphill task, but I hope the Tekong waters wont push us too far apart.

Weijin my scandal - Thanks for willingly being my scandal and for being hot and funny all the time! I SWEAR YOU LOOK LIKE A CHINA MAN NOW!

Alvin, whom I got to know better through Peixin and Fajar - Thanks for the energy, the random rubbish and the boyish laughter always! ((: I'll NEVER forget your Excellence's volcano!

I did his (and mine!) first camp with Arvin and his last camp as well. To me, its really something special. His passion really remains as a motivating point and I'm glad HA found this brother of mine for me. :D

This post is really so overdue the sentimental value is much lost. hah. Nevertheless, the thought lives on for always!

Turtle Power!

Backdated : 25 march 2007!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Heroes in a half shell
Turtle power.

There the world's most fearsome fighting team,
We're really hip
they're heroes in a half shell and they're green.
Hey get a grip
When the evil Shredder attacks,
Those turtle boys don't cut 'em no slack.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
Splinter taught them to be ninja team,
He's a radical rat
Leonardo lead's,
Donatello does machines.
That's a fact jack
Rapheal is cool but crude,
Give me a break
Michaelangelo is a party dude.
Party!

Woke up 15 min before the start of the movie and almost decided to give it up and pay for the tickets that Shenglong had already bought.

Thank goodness I didnt! I loved everything about the show except for the soundtrack! Turtles are damn super cute and the whole cliched idea was entertaining. Funny and easy on the mind, a very my kind of show. Pity April and Leonado didnt get together (How would they kiss!?) I dont care for what Weijin says about it being a bore cause I love it! Donatello and sewer skating! ((:

But I was a tad disappointed with the original turtles song not appearing at all throughout the whole movie. Listen to it here (http://vanlovesmilktea.multiply.com/music), but be warned of its not so good quality though :/

There was actually this buay zi dong guy clearing the theaters right behind us, but I photoshopped him out by colouring him black. (:

What brilliant smiles we have! :D I really super do like this picture although theres only a tiny bit of my very tan face. (Or maybe those 2 army boys are just damn fair)

Nerdy hair is still 329261 times better than no hair at all. Damn cute la!

Just a random thought though : Blue, Purple, Red and Orange dont really go eh. Maybe its because they cant use green?

The SIXA pledge!

Backdated : 25 march 2007!

We met up for a long long overdue gathering - my first in the longest time (Must have been what? 6 years?). We talked about the yesterdays and the times in the little school of PoiChing. The ghost stories, the quote book we had, the encouraging book marks our form teacher (MS PHUA!) gave us, the fear we had for said form teacher, our love for her, the prefectorial board (in our school, it was an offence to take 2 steps at a time), the Chinese newspaper reading Wednesdays (where we'll frantically borrow pieces of Da Mu Zhi ,some popular Chinese newspaper at that time, so as not to be pulled out by the prefects), the tests we had every Mon, Wed and Fri, extra Chinese zuo wen classes, that weird classmate we had, etc etc etc.

We've been apart about 1/3 of my life, and before that night I was quite afraid that we wont talk anymore. Couldnt have been more wrong. The boys are guys now and the girls have truely bloomed. (: hah, I swear I could barely recognize them when I walked into Swensens. (Late, habitually. ): )

But yet, I love them all the same. ((:

Very truely, a class unlike any other. :D

Thursday, May 3

This could be the greatest adventure ever!

But the excitement overwhelms me so and clouds my judgement- this is what I'm most fearful about.

That and my physical standing. Should have chucked those donuts away ages ago.

In my defence, donuts from Donut Factory are heavenly. (Or at least those I've tried). Worthy mentions are the strawberry heart and the apple cinnimon. ((:
